- VH2 will be reinstated seeing as it was the only decent music channel
- Children's TV will return to when it was good
- Schools will be required to give children more exercise a week (like 3 or 4 hours) and healthier food
- Personal data will be managed properly and held securely
- Everyone will be given antiviruses and firewalls for their computers
- Smoking will be eliminated gradually through higher taxation, reducing the sizes of cigarettes
- Train tickets won't be so stupidly expensive
- The UK will have a superfast fibre based network so we all get decent bandwidth
- The NHS will function properly and serve everyone's needs
- The HD format war will be ended
- Food will be redistributed fairly
- Those annoying kids on park benches drinking White Lightning will be dealt with
- Games consoles will only be available to over 16s - if you're 15 or younger go play in the park or spend your childhood being a kid
- Taxation will be limited to direct taxation and taxation on things that are bad e.g. cigarettes
- There will be a world council of wise men and women who decides whats best for everyone
- Sexual content on TV and film will be reduced - lets face it it's turning us all into lewd buffoons
- Alcopops will be banned
- Drink driving limits will be reduced to 0
- A cultural criticism board will be set up to asses all music, theatre, art etc on merit to decide what is worth allowing to be released to the general populous
- Button/drag lifts will be changed into something more snowboarder friendly
- Global warming will be sorted - Al Gore can have that job (or maybe not)
- All media will be made smarter, not dumber as the trend seems to be
- Mark Kermode will rate all films and everyone will heed the ratings
- Graham Cain and Dave Ford will be paid to select the best music to be played on a dedicated radio station
- Those annoying TV phone in quizzes will be banned
- Voting systems will ensure everyone is fairly represented
- Wales will be given full national status
- Journalism standards will be set and strictly policed
- Everyone has to go to school until 18
- Education system will be reformed to enable everyone to learn and be useful to society
There are probably loads of others I'll think of later on.
The point is not to limit people or take away civil liberties but to get rid of some of the rougher edges of society. I may not even be 25 yet, but I've notice how things have changed alot. Not because of terrorism or globalisation or anything else. People just seem to care less about what they do or aboout those around them. Fun has been corrupted kids don't play in parks any more, parents don't spend time with their kids. Everyones just too busy.
Sometime the good old days need to come back.
